Next week, MOCA goes on the road to San Francisco, CA!
Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) of New York City, cordially invites you to Wah Ying Club, 727 Clay Street, San Francisco, CA 94108, on Tuesday, December 7, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM PST, as they capture stories, inspire individuals to preserve artifacts, and provide an educational resource to supplement missing parts of U.S. history. Participants may also learn how MOCA’s exhibitions exploring Chinese American history and culture can travel to a museum, historical society, or school near you!
Heirlooms such as photo albums, trinkets, and marriage certificates can tell our families' stories for generations to come, but only if they are carefully preserved. Join MOCA for these public sessions, where you’ll also learn how to save, store, and share your family heirlooms, photographs, and digital memories.
MOCA hopes to prompt storytelling and memory sharing through a community’s precious belongings, and hopes that MOCA on the Road becomes a beacon for community gathering as MOCA continues to tell the untold stories in the making of America. MOCA looks forward to your participation, and to sharing this and many more stories of the Chinese in America.
Special thanks to the Wah Ying Club for their invaluable partnership!
Note: RSVPs are not required for the public drop-in sessions. Proof of vaccination will be checked upon arrival to ensure a safe environment.
