While most of the speakers will be remote, students of Wuyi University will be viewing these presentations at an in-person conference at Cangdong Heritage Education Center in Cangdong Village. Presentations will be in English, followed by a short summary in Chinese.

Dr. Barbara Voss, Associate Professor at Stanford University and CHCP member, will be one of the presenters.

The presentations are being made available to an international audience via Zoom.

A social enterprise for heritage conservation and education, the Cangdong Heritage Education Center carries out research and provides information on the architecture, history of the area, its inhabitants, and their traditions, as well as those who have emigrated and the reasons for emigration. It endeavors to provide a working example worthy of study, for tangible and intangible heritage conservation.

In 2015, the Center received the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Conservation Award of Merit. In July 2021, the Center was selected as one of ten outstanding projects to exemplify innovative approaches to World Heritage on a global scale. These awards emanated from the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO.
