SCCLD Author Visit: "AAPIHM Month - The Soul of Hakone, Its History and Legacy"

Ann Waltonsmith and Connie Young Yu will discuss the fascinating history and untold stories of Hakone Gardens and their discoveries in writing their recent book Hakone Estate and Gardens. They will show rare photographs of the early garden and the remarkable people who saved it for future generations.

This in-person program will be held in the Community Room. Should circumstances require the program to be virtual, all registrants will be sent a Zoom link. This program is sponsored by the Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) and Hakone Gardens. Seating is limited. Masks and registration are required.

About the Speakers:

Ann Waltonsmith (Hakone Foundation chairperson and former mayor of Saratoga) and Connie Young Yu (CHCP Advisory Board Member, historian, and Hakone Foundation trustee) present a dramatic story featuring civic leaders, war heroes, and movie stars set in a Western landscape.

Ann and Connie will be selling and signing copies of their book Hakone Estate and Gardens after the program.
