Private Tour of CAHM - C100 Members

We would like to welcome Committee of 100 (C100) Members to a Private Tour of  CHCP's Chinese American Historical Museum (CAHM) on Saturday, May 6, starting at 3:00 PM.

View a recreation of the historic Ng Shing Gung Temple and learn more about a San Jose Chinatown that was burned down by arson fire in 1887. The former Chinatown is on the exact site of the hotel for this year's C100 Conference. (Be sure to look for the commemorative plaque posted on the southwest corner of the hotel exterior.)

Just over a year ago the San Jose Mayor and City Council formally apologized to the local Chinese immigrants and their descendants for the burning of Chinatown and the role the city played in "systemic and institutional racism, xenophobia, and discrimination." This was the first top 10 City in the US that had issued a Formal Apology to the local Chinese Community. 

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
