CATS AAPI Young Artists Showcase Submissions (thru Aug 1)

Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) is excited to announce an exciting event showcasing Bay Area's young AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) talent.

In partnership with the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, CATS is hosting an open call for local Bay Area AAPI high school and college performance artists to submit entries to be considered for open slots at a live performance event on September 16. This will be a compensated showcase, and they are seeking entries from dance troupes, musicians, singers, solo dancers, bands, comedians, and others! They are excited to share your artistic skills with the wider community at the event, and encourage you to submit a piece today. They believe that art has a remarkable ability to bring people together by fostering connections, promoting understanding of each other, and creating dialogues around shared experiences.

Submission Period: July 1, 2023 - August 1, 2023

Event Participation Selection: August 15, 2023

Performance Date: Saturday, September 16, 2023 | 6:00 - 9:00pm

Performance Location: San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin
