AIISF Webinar: "Gateways in Dialogue: Navigating Immigrant Experiences on Angel and Ellis Islands (Part 1)"

  • January 18, 2024
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Online (via Zoom)

Join Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF) and the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation to compare journeys through these two immigration stations on a 1-hour virtual event.  They are starting off this series with a virtual tour through their spaces.  While Angel Island was referred to as the Ellis Island of the West in newspaper articles before its opening, is this accurate?  Stephen and Danielle will be in conversation tracking immigrant journeys from ship to city at these two sites and let you determine just how alike or dissimilar they are.  There will be time for a Q&A after their presentation.
