SDCHM Lecture: "Frames and Voices: Visual Archives, Oral Histories, and Family Memories in Modern East Asia and Chinese American Experiences"

  • August 17, 2024
  • 10:00 AM
  • Online (via Zoom)

Don't miss the Zoom lecture by the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum (SDCHM) on Saturday, August 17th, at 10:00 am PDT.

Dr. Joseph Ho will explore how photographs, films, and oral histories intersect with cultural histories of East Asian and Chinese American communities across the twentieth century. Drawing from a decade of research in archives and family collections around the world – demonstrating recovered artifacts and rare source materials as part of this presentation – he will illuminate colorful links between vision, materiality, and memory that framed Sino-US experiences and new ways of seeing modern East Asian history.
