The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade, celebrating the Year of the Tiger, will be on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 5:15 PM, stepping off at Second and Market Streets. The parade is approximately 1.3 miles in length and lasts about 2-1/2 hours from start to finish. It is a free event for all to attend but tickets must be purchased to sit in the bleacher sections.
The San Francisco parade is one of a kind, with spectacular floats, numerous marching bands, colorful costumes, lion dances, and the ever popular Golden Dragon ("Gum Lung") which is 288 feet long and carried by a large team of trained martial artists. There will be many celebrities participating, including the beautiful and talented Miss Chinatown U.S.A. and her court. This is one parade that is surely not to be missed, come rain or come shine!
