  • Central Park Library, 2635 Homestead Rd, Santa Clara, CA 95051 (or Online via Zoom)

Santa Clara City Library (SCCL)'s Adult Services is starting a new initiative/program called "Tell Your Story".  The program is a call to the public to participate in an oral history project at the Santa Clara City Library!  During AAPI Heritage month, they are focusing on stories from folks in the AAPI community. This program is not limited to the residents of the City of Santa Clara, but the general area around Santa Clara as well (including San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, etc.).

Here is how the program will work:

  1. Interested parties can contact the reference desk or fill out the online form.  Adult Services will be checking the responses every few days and reaching out as needed, so the response time should be about 3 to 5 days (at the most).
  2. After getting in contact with the participant, they will set up a time to meet at the library or online via Zoom.  Questions will be focused on the local history of the area and each individual's unique experiences but will not be readily available for the participants to review beforehand, as they will change depending on the direction of the interview.
  3. Participants and interviewers will then conduct and film/record an oral history interview during the scheduled meeting time, which will be no more than an hour.  This interview will be processed, catalogued, and archived in their genealogy collection for public use.

Interested? Fill out the online form to "Tell Your Story."
