Thomas Foon Chew was a Chinese-American businessman, who founded Bayside Canning Company, the third largest cannery in America in the 1920s. Chew's business endeavors included over 8,000 acres of farm land in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta and 4 acres of land in what is now Palo Alto.
Hear from Gloria Hom, PhD, his granddaughter, who will share his work, innovation and altruism. The event will be in Alviso at the South Bay Yacht Club, next to the cannery buildings.
The event is free and will include games and food. Please RSVP by Thursday, February 13.
