CATS AAPI Playwright Festival

Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS), in collaboration with award-winning director and playwright Jeffrey Lo, is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Playwright Festival. Building upon the success of last year’s inaugural event, this festival continues to showcase the vibrant talents of existing and emerging local Bay Area AAPI theater artists—including writers, actors, directors, and stagehands.

This year’s festival will feature staged readings of six original short plays by a diverse group of AAPI playwrights. These compelling works delve into themes of identity, heritage, and community, offering audiences a rich tapestry of stories that reflect the multifaceted AAPI experience.
