On January 25th at the Asian Art Museum (AAM), the co-creator of children’s book “A Very Asian Guide to Taiwanese Food” talks storytelling, heritage, community — and of course, food.
Meet Taiwanese American artist Felicia Liang, whose appealing illustrations have appeared on the ‘Vacant to Vibrant’ signage throughout downtown San Francisco, on official Los Angeles Kings merch for Lunar New Year, onscreen in “American Born Chinese” and “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens,” and in publications and websites from Tripadvisor to the LA Times. Her new picture book “A Very Asian Guide to Taiwanese Food” introduces young readers to Taiwanese cuisine (e.g. boba, stinky tofu) and provides fun facts about the food and culture of Taiwan, complete with pronunciation guides and kid-friendly recipes.
