Please join the Parks Department of the City of San Jose on Zoom on January 29th at 6:00 pm to help name a new park at Rinconada Drive and learn about the park design concepts and stormwater solutions.
The name, Bill Kee Park, has been submitted and is under consideration as one of the eligible names for the park. Bill Kee (1902-1989), father of CHCP Co-Founder/Trustee Gerrye Wong, was a Chinese American entrepreneur and community organizer in San José from 1937-1947. As a spokesman for the San Jose Chinatown community, he led an effort to preserve the original 1888 Ng Shing Gung temple as a historic landmark, the last remaining building from the Heinlenville Chinatown. (Learn more about Bill Kee's legacy.)
