Please help the Parks Department of the City of San Jose to name a new park at Rinconada Drive.

The name, Bill Kee Park, has been submitted and is under consideration as one of the eligible names for the park. Bill Kee (1902-1989), father of CHCP Co-Founder/Trustee Gerrye Wong, was a Chinese American entrepreneur and community organizer in San José from 1937-1947. As a spokesman for the San Jose Chinatown community, he led an effort to preserve the original 1888 Ng Shing Gung temple as a historic landmark, the last remaining building from the Heinlenville Chinatown. (Learn more about Bill Kee's legacy.)

View the presentation slides and the recording of the Park Site, Stormwater Solutions, and Park Names that were presented at the Community Meeting on January 29, 2026.

The naming survey (Survey #2) is open through February 8th! There is a limit of one survey vote per device (ex. phone, laptop, or desktop computer).
